That is all exercise is. When you are physically active and you raise your heart rate and respiratory rate, you are exercising. This means fast dancing with your friends every Friday night is exercise. So is taking a brisk walk or a hike through your favorite local park. Maybe you like swimming at the beach or in a pool. You lift weights every day, in the form of groceries, your kids, when you move furniture or give your home a spring cleaning going-over. Cutting the grass, chopping firewood, cleaning out your garage and other common activities are beneficial forms of exercise.
Think “physical activity” rather than the word “exercise” and you will find you are more open to the idea of physical fitness.
